Support Groups
Support groups meet once a week in two locations on both the north and the south sides of Canberra. These groups are run by a trained group facilitator and provide opportunities for:
- friendship
- support
- discussion, and
- strategies for coping.
Childcare is provided free of charge.
Richardson

We are currently in the process of negotiating a location for a northside support group.

Playgroup
This playgroup is for the children of women who are recovering from
postnatal depression or antenatal depression. Women attending the group need
to be well enough to focus on their children. The playgroup provides peer
support for women in a safe and friendly environment.
The playgroup is held in:
Curtin
10am - 12 noon
Mondays

Telephone Support Program
Telephone support is provided for families by our Community Support Worker.
This service is for those who do not wish to, or cannot attend support groups.
Those who may be isolated can benefit from this service.
Please contact us on 02 6232 6664* if you feel this kind of support
would be suitable for you.
Coffee and Chat
Coffee & Chat is a friendly get together for people affected by
postnatal and antenatal depression. Here people have the opportunity to relax
and share their experiences with other parents, explore the library, and gain
insight into any concerns around postnatal or antenatal Depression.
This group is held on Wednesdays from 10:00 - 11:30 am at the PANSDI office: 20
Stokes Street, Griffith.
24 Hour Telephone Support
Our office phones are covered from Monday to Thursday, 9am - 3pm, and out
of hours phone support is provided by LifeLine
on 13 11 14.
You may also contact
the PANDSI office to access the number of the rostered telephone support
worker.
Crisis phone support is available through the Mental Health Crisis Line on 1800
629 354.
Library and Books for Sale
We have a number of books and vidoes on parenting, postnatal depression and
early childhood. These books are available from the office or from the support
groups.
We also have for sale copies of:

All books can be borrowed for 3 week periods from the PANDSI Library, at
each of the support group meetings or at the office: 20 Stokes Street,
GRIFFITH.
